Company History

Deb and Rick Phillips have owned and operated two very successful Pickup & Delivery routes in the Tampa Bay area of Florida since 2004 and continue to run these routes today. In early 2007, they recognized the need to offer an Advanced Driving / Defensive Driving course to new P&D drivers and incorporated SafeSide Driving to provide both classroom and behind the wheel training at their facility in Tampa Bay, FL.

Deb and Rick have many years of practical P&D experience and Deb is a Certified Instructor from the National Safety Council. This unique combination of practical and professional experience provides the foundation for SafeSide Driving’s Advanced Driving / Defensive Driving Course for Professional Truck Drivers.

Deb and Rick have launched SafeSideDriving.com to leverage the power of the internet and allow new drivers the opportunity to learn the classroom portion of the required training through an interactive module based training program. The on-line version of our training program covers all of the material, testing and review we do in our classroom setting today, but allows you the flexibility to complete at your own pace, at any time (day/night), and without any additional travel or hotel costs.
